Spend a few days in Florence or Siena, San Gimignano or Volterra. Maybe arrive in Venice and depart from Rome with a few days at either end. Or meander through Tuscany spending a few days here and there making your own 'fly-drive' itinerary - as an alternative to self-catering. We have personally visited all the hotels we have chosen which are all in the 3 and 4 Star bracket, some with pools, and most offer evening meal.

We've found some delightful little hotels a little bit off the beaten track in such places as Colle Val D'Elsa, Monteriggioni, Castelnuevo Berardenga and Strove and a small selection of B & B's are also available giving you the opportunity to eat out and sample the local cuisine.

Prices start from as little as £44.00 for two persons in a double ensuite room including breakfast.
